What is TORCH:-
TORCH is a Group of Four diseases. these diseases mainly affect the mother during pregnancy and transmit mother to baby
T- Toxoplasmosis.
O- Other Agents.
R- Rubella.
C- Cytomegalovirus.
H- Herpes Simplex
What is toxoplasmosis:-
toxoplasmosis is a Goundi (Protozoa) Prsente in Cat stool, Row beef (Cow+Buffelo meet) Mainly Cow and Buffalo intestine, and sometimes milk.
Toxoplasmosis Symptom Mother and Baby:-
The mother has no Seviour Symptom of toxoplasmosis.
But the baby has Seviour Symptom Such as.-
Rubella has also known as Congenital rubella Syndrom.
- Before 13 Weeks- decrease the chance of infection but Seviourity has increased
- After 13 Weeks increase the chance of infection but Seviourty has Decrease
Rubella mainly Spreed by droplet & Direct person to person Contact
Clinical Feature of Rubella:-
- Congenital heart disease.
- Congenital Cataract.
- Defense.
- Still Birth.
- Premature Baby.
- Abortion.
- Hearing Disability.
- Bone- Deformity.
How to Manage Rubella In Mother:-
Finding the immunization of Mother. ideally 3 Months or a minimum 1-month gap for Pregnancy after
rubella vaccine
If the infection in 1st trimester performs the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP).
What is Cytomegalovirus:-
Cytomegalovirus is a member of the herpes family. these can infect mostly Intra-uterine infection CMV
Infection Can by.
- Placenta (Mother to baby)
- breastfeeding
- Body Secretion
Clinical Feature of Cytomegalovirus:-
- Microcephaly.
- Hydrocephalus.
- Cerebral palsy.
- Mental retardation.
- Deafness.
- Blue-Berry Muffin Rashes on Skin.
How to manage Cytomegalovirus infection:-
- Use Standard Precaution.
- Medical Termination Of Pregnancy.
- Antibiotics are Not useful in viral infection.
Herpes Simplex:-
Herpes Simplex has an infectious virus. these viruses attack mainly labor period.
Type of Herpes Simplex:-
Herpes Simplex has mainly two types.
type 1 Cause fever and blister.
type 2 Cause STD
Clinical Feature of Herpes Simplex:-
Herpes Simplex does not cross the placenta.
these are the most common effects of renal and neurological infection.
Management of Herpes Simplex:-
- Caesarian section
- Avoid breastfeeding -if lesion present on the breast
- Acyclovir After 36 weeks of pregnancy.[ To reduce the transmission of the virus]
Golden Point:- Herpes Simplex is the most common infection During Pregnancy
